Mikey Romero - WooSox
In alignment with the awareness initiative, MOPSS is sharing a personal story connected to the WooSox community. WooSox infielder Mikey Romero, who lost his father to head and neck cancer, has contributed a video message reflecting his experience and the broader impact of the disease on families.
WHO WE ARE
Massachusetts Oncology Patients, Survivors, and Supporters (MOPSS) 3
Massachusetts Oncology Patients, Survivors & Supporters (MOPSS) is a survivor-led nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by head and neck cancer. Our work centers on access to medically necessary oral and dental care—care that is often required before cancer treatment can begin, during treatment, and throughout survivorship.
We work to ensure oral and dental care is recognized as an essential part of whole-body cancer care, not a separate or optional service.
Through awareness, education, and policy advocacy, we partner with communities, healthcare professionals, and supporters to elevate survivor voices, promote early detection, and improve quality of life
